News just reached us of the death of Craig Lorentson, singer in Falkirk band Lowlife, who passed away on June 4th.
Lorentson, who was a founder member of the band in the late 80s, was originally singer in Grangemouth act Dead Neighbours, once described by Sounds as “Scotland’s answer to The Cramps”. Cocteau Twins bassist Will Heggie joined the lineup which would soon become Lowlife. The band released five albums between then and the mid-nineties, which were made available in remastered form in 2006.

R.I.P. CRAIG, THE SWEETEST VOICE ” GIVEN TO DREAMING” SADLY MISSED JED
Goodbye, Craigy. You were a great poet. I’ll tilt one in your honor. Rest in peaceful permanent sleep.
I won’t accept it. Fairness don’t apply here. But it’s still unacceptable. Few bands count. Lowlife and the voice in it does. FUCK.
