Connect Festival has announced details of a new stage which partners with the charity initiated by Frightened Rabbit.

The Tiny Changes x Gardener’s Cottage stage is a small, intimate pop-up event within the grounds of the Royal Highland Centre, where the four-day event takes place from August 26th.

Acts including Admiral Fallow, Joesef, Cloth, Raveloe, and Lizzie Reid will perform acoustic sets, as well as a succession of secret sets from established names which will be announced throughout the festival weekend

Other acts already confirmed are Terra Kin, Djana Gabrielle, No Window, James Liandu, and Lewis McLaughlin, who is signed to the Monohands label set up by Frightened Rabbit’s Andy Monaghan.

Joesef, who also headlines the Guitars and Other Machines Headliner on the Friday, said: “I’m buzzing to be playing an acoustic set for Tiny Changes at Connect Festival. It’s incredible to see what Scott’s [Hutchison] friends and family have created in his memory. The work they have done and continue to do for children and young people with mental health issues is so inspiring.”

Tiny Changes is a charity for supporting young people’s mental health, set up in memory of Frightened Rabbit singer Scott Hutchison. Scott performed at the original Connect Festival with Frightened Rabbit back in 2007 on the YourSound bandstand, so it’s a special full circle moment for all involved.

The Tiny Changes CEO Kara Brown added: “Tiny Changes is so excited to be this year’s Connect charity partner and add something extra special to the festival together, inspired by Scott and helping young minds feel better. Without the support of the music industry and music fans, we wouldn’t have the national youth work presence we do today, and we’re just getting started.”

To be the first to know about the secret sets, fans must download the Connect App – available on iOS or Android – and turn on their notifications.

Connect has also announced a comedy and spoken-word strand – the Speakeasy stage will host comics including Mark Nelson and Katie Pritchard, as well as Q&A sessions including Mogwai’s Stuart Braithwaite and James Graham out of The Twilight Sad.
