The life of radio producer Stewart Cruickshank is to be celebrated at a show in his Glasgow hometown later this year.

The event, a fundraiser for Drake Music Scotland, will feature an array of acts who were supported and championed by the BBC legend, whose work on shows from Beat Patrol to the Iain Anderson show gave a start to countless musicians.

The lineup for the show gives some idea of the breadth of music that Stewart supported over his years in the industry, right up until his untimely passing two years ago.

Among the acts already confirmed are Emma Pollock, Duglas T Stewart & David Scott, Karine Polwart, The Primevals, Rab Noakes and Kim Edgar.

‘The Thanes Play The Poets’ will see the 80s garage rockers perform the songs of the influential 60s beat group.

Also on the bill are supergroup The Crunchies (featuring members of Teenage Fanclub, Belle and Sebastian, 1990s and V-Twin), and Stewart’s own band Mowgli & The Donuts.

Concert For Stewart will take place on Friday 24 November at Saint Luke’s in Glasgow – more info at www.stlukesglasgow.com
