The Charlatans have been joined by Frightened Rabbit’s Grant Hutchinson and Billy Kennedy in an tribute to the pair’s bandmate Scott Hutchinson.

The touching tribute to Scott, who passed away earlier this year, took place at Belladrum Tartan Heart festival.

The Charlatans invited Scott’s brother and fellow bandmate Grant Hutchison along with the band’s keyboard player Billy Kennedy onstage for a version of the bands tune ‘Head Rolls Off’.

The members of both acts spent the afternoon rehearsing in a makeshift practice room on the festival’s farm.

Frightened Rabbit had a special place in the hearts of the Tartan Heart organisers and fans, having previously appeared at Belladrum in 2008, 2012 and 2014, as well as Scott also making an impromptu solo acoustic performance in the Tomatin Whisky Bothy at the 2012 event.

The band were set to headline the second stage at this years’ event before Scott’s passing last May. In their place, Belladrum performed a video tribute of the band’s seminal album ‘The Midnight Organ Fight’, and organising a collection for SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health).

“It felt really special to hear a Frightened Rabbit song being played on the main stage this year,” said Belladrum organiser Joe Gibbs.

“The band have always said Bella had a special place in their hearts and likewise we have felt the same about Frightened Rabbit” he added.
