Edinburgh’s Cabaret Voltaire is to close – temporarily, but the Blair Street venue’s March reopening is to be under new management and a new name.
According to its Facebook page it will close on February 20th following a number of closing parties, and reopen in March. The new owners are Stefan King’s G1 group, whose portfolio of clubs rather tend towards the mainstream, and which has a subsidiary, EH1, which includes The Three SIsters, Biddy Mullligans, and various hotels bought last year from the Festival group via KPMG following their going into administration.
However, the new owners have stated that current manager Sarah David “will continue to enjoy full autonomy in the running of the venue.”
