Former member of late 90s indie act Suburbia, Ainslie Henderson, has won a BAFTA for a 15-minute film short.

The Denholm-born songwriter – who also appeared on the BBC reality show Fame Academy and scored a top 5 hit off the back of it with single ‘Keep Me A Secret’ – has more recently taken to filmmaking.

The prize-winning film was made with Inverness-born Will Anderson, like Henderson a former student at Edinburgh College of Art – and their film ‘The Making of Longbird’ lifted the BAFTA in the short animation category at the ceremony in London on Sunday night.
