Edinburgh’s Avalanche Records, which recently departed its Grassmarket shop, has, it seems, re-emerged, with a pop-up shop kinda deal at nearby venue The Cabaret Voltaire – though shop owner Kevin Buckle says that it’s not a ‘pop-up’ in that the arrangement will last until at least October.
Regular readers will know that the shop’s future has been the subject of much debate with the move from Cockburn Street a few years ago not proving sustainable. The shop’s blog has debated and mused over the future with moves to online trading being considered, and the shop’s most recent incarnation was as a market stall close to its former Grassmarket location.
