Proposals which could see music tuition in Aberdeen either privatised or terminated are to be discussed by Aberdeen City Council on 2nd of December. The plan could see pupils who have council-owned instruments be forced to return them and anyone wishing to continue learning an instrument will have to pay for private tuition and buy their own instrument. Plus, bands and orchestras run in schools and by the Council Music Centre will cease to exist. Clearly this could be very damaging for development of music in the city.
A petition against the proposals can be viewed and signed here.
