Mogwai have announced a new EP, due out on December 1st.

‘Music Industry 3. Fitness Industry 1.’ will contain six tunes including lead track ‘Teenage Exorcists’ which is available to listen to now. unusually for the largely instrumental five-piece, the track contains actual ‘singing’ seldom heard, although the band did recently record a cover of Washington Phillips’ ‘What Are They Doing In Heaven’ for the soundtrack to ‘Les Revenants’.

The three new songs, which also include ‘History Day’ and ‘HMP Shaun William Ryder’, come from writing and recording sessions for most recent long player ‘Rave Tapes’. Also on the EP are remixes of three tracks from that album – ‘Re-Remurdered’, ‘No Medicine For Regret’ and ‘The Lord Is Out Of Control’, reworked by Blanck Mass, Pye Corner Audio and Nils Frahm respectively.

Recorded by the band with Paul Savage at Castle Of Doom studios, the EP will be available in digital, CD and very limited edition 12-inch vinyl via Rock Action .
