We don’t usually fall for the drip-feed of festival announcements which would ordinarily mean that Rockness, Wicker or whatever would get a news item to themselves every couple of days, but on this occasion…

German electronic legends, who need no introduction, Kraftwerk, have been announced as headliners for this year’s T in the Park. well, I say ‘headliners’, there’s no specific place on the bill or the running order for them, though I can’t really see them playing in broad daylight or in the afternoon, unless it’s the Slam Tent. Anyway, they join Two Door Cinema Club, Azelea Banks, Emile Sande, and The Killers as well as Rhianna, Mumford & Sons, The Script, Alt-J, Jake Bugg, and Paloma Faith, all of whom, quite frankly, could have been announced last year or they could be part of the same press release as the Dusseldorf quartet, who will be making their first Scottish appearance in, er, quite a while.

So, they’ll be in the slightly unusual setting of a muddy field in Balado one of the of the days between July 12 and 14.
