Alasdair Roberts has released a preview track from his forthcoming Drag City album, due out on 27th January next year.

The self-titled, ten track effort is more of a solo effort following previous long-player ‘A Wonder Working Stone’, which had the “And Friends” suffix. However, like its predecessor, ‘Alasdair Roberts’ consists of all-original works as opposed to any reinterpretations of traditional songs which he has also become known for.

However, his voice and guitar are on this release augmented by bass clarinet, tin whistle and, as well as harmony chorus, courtesy of The Crying Lion.

It was recorded at Glasgow’s Green Door Studio, where he previously made his 2009 album, ‘Spoils’.
