Travis are a band who you might not expect to see on what's usually a site geared towards more alternative / less mainstream music. And Travis are a band whose cheery upbeat pop tunes or anthemic singalongs can be heard on pretty much every radio station or in any magazine. However, new album 12 Memories goes against their established formula and sees the band return with a darker sound and thoughtful, politically-motivated lyrics. This is what the PR blurb says about their new sound: "12 Memories is Travis at their most powerful, poignant and effecting. It is an album that sees Travis explore lyrically darker themes and with a far edgier and brooding set of songs. Yet, Travis still possess an eloquence and an ear for a fine tune. " And here's what the Sunday Mail said anbout the band recently. "They should stick to the singalong mainstream sound at which they excel" We say - perhaps it's about time we considered their application to rejoin the indie fold? You can decide for yourself - watch and listen to the video trailer for the album featuring excerpts from all the songs. Select a connection and suitable media player type
