A new, Perth-based festival, has called on bands to take part in a Battle of the Bands to secure a slot on the bill.

Party at the Park, which will take place at Lesser South Inch Park on e weekend of June 28th & 29th, and the organisers have asked local venue Twa Tams to run the competition to select acts to join the big-name lineup planned.

The new event is being run by the organisers of the successful Party at the Palace event which has taken place in Linlithgow since 2014, and which most recently had Midge Ure, KT Tunstall and the Charlatans among its bill-toppers.

Among the smaller acts who have taken part, some via local competitions, include Foreignfox (pictured), Ashton Lane, Jamie & Shoony, Apache Darling, Little Eye and 100 Fables.

Bands wishing to enter the competition can do so via the Twa Tams website.
