Scottish music conference Resonate has unveiled its programme of events, including the live showcase acts who will perform at Platform in Glasgow in November.
Brontes, Joell, Shears, and Wrthless will be joined by the winner of the Sound Of Young Scotland Award, due to be announced at the SAY Award ceremony, with nominees including Dead Pony, The Uninvited, Kleo, Psweatpants and Berta Kennedy.
The conference element of the one-day event takes place at Platform in Easterhouse, with keynote speaker Nemone joined by guests from across the music industry.
The event takes place on Thursday, November 24 and world-leading industry heavyweights such as Spotify, Bandcamp, Steinberg, Nordoff-Robbins, Wasserman Music and the BBC are represented across the panels.
Appearing to share their knowledge of what it takes to get on in a career in music are award-winning composer Hannah Peel, Spotify’s Lucy Blair, Steinberg master mixer and engineer Andrew Sappo, Codie Childs of Playstation Studios, Aly Guillani of Bandcamp, Cecilia Chan of Wasserman – manager of LF System, Mark Ronson and Above and Beyond – Glasvegas manager Denise Allan, Nordoff-Robbins supremo Donald MacLeod, Nick Cronin of Vagrant Real Estate and Bright Things PR’s Jess Partridge.
There were more than 100 applications from artists to perform at Resonate 22’s live showcase, with judges from BBC Introducing, DF Concerts, Last Night From Glasgow and Dirt Comms whittling them down to those selected.
Amelia from Brontes said: “We are so pleased and grateful to be selected for the resonate showcase 2022. From our first live show only being a year ago this is something to be proud of.”
And Becca from Shears commented: “I’m thrilled about being selected to play at Resonate Live! I can’t wait to meet loads of people, learn new stuff and hear great music. Reconnecting is so important in this industry and this will be a lovely opportunity to do just that.”
