Adults and kids alike can take part in a series of live Intro to Ableton workshops, hosted by Gav ‘Grnr’ Thomson via the Glad Cafe’s Glorious Traces Legacy.
With Ableton currently offering their composition / recording / performance software as a free 90 day trial, it means bored and locked-down budding musicians can homeschool themselves in music production, under the expert tutelage of the West Lothian-born multi-instrumentalist.
Thomson, as well as currently being soundman at Stereo is also one half of electronic duo Razr, and formerly a member of acts such as Flying Matchstick Men, Findo Gask, How To Swim and Troika (plus a shedload we’ve forgotten about).
The first of three weekly sessions, aided by Creative Scotland funding, is on Monday April 6, from 11am-2pm, on our YouTube and Facebook pages. Aimed at those aged 12 and over, participants can can ask questions in advance and suggest areas they would like to learn.
