Bands and artists based in the Highlands and Islands can now apply to take part in Excite 2019 – a project which encompasses events such as Hamburg’s Reeperbahn Festival, the Finnish Lost in Music festival and Spring Break in Poland – as well as the local XpoNorth conference in Inverness.

Excite is a collaborative project managed by a partnership of organisations including MENT (Sl), Spring Break (PL), SPOT Festival (DK), Welcome to the Village (NL), MS Dockville (DE), Live at Heart (SE), Reeperbahn Festival (DE), Braga Music Week (PT), Lost in Music (FI), Play Festival (BE), Monkey Week (ES), Sørveiv Festival (NO), Sonic Visions (LU), Freeze Festival (NL) and XpoNorth.

At least three opportunities will be offered to Highlands and Islands based creatives or bands.

Extra dates, market awareness sessions, networking opportunities, Writing Camps, 1-2-1 advice from industry partners and supporting media opportunities are also produced in each country.

In addition to this, a range of additional opportunities for those interested in working in other areas of the music or media industries are also being introduced for 2019, all designed to support young talent to explore international markets earlier in their career/ development.
