SL Records' monthly download series continues with a couple of tracks picked by Elvis Shakespeare's (Edinburgh record and book shop with a brand new track from Edinburgh folkies Whisky Galore and a classic from SoulJazz Records, Yossarian's My Shy Boy Saint. The Zips re-release, 30 years on, their debut EP via Brooklyn-based Sing Sing Records - in its original 7” vinyl format, complete with stickers and lyric sheet. Original copies are much sought-after with one selling for $427 on the internet, and it being voted 37th in the Top 100 most collectible punk single, in Record Collector. The four songs were recorded in autumn 1978, in a 4 hour session, during afternoon closing in the long-gone Burns Howff bar in Glasgow.

Jeepster release a compilation of BBC sssions by Belle and Sebastian. The 13-track goes back to the time of their second album where they made their Radio One debut for Mark Radcliffe's Graveyard Sift, and runs through up until the John Peel session just before Isobel Campbell departed the band (and includes 4 unreleased tunes). After the success of the first (also free through the link), Cry Parrot have decided to release another compilation, which, like the first, serves as a documentation of the present Scottish music scene, as well a platform for independent bands.
