Future Pilot AKA have split up. Well, Sushil K Dade has announced a change of direction for the release of what will be his final studio album under that guise.

The long-player, seemingly entitled ‘*X-Perience*’, features as ever a plethora of famous collaborators – Craig Armstrong, R M Hubbert, Robert Wyatt, Mulatu Astatke, Ron Sexsmith, Emma Pollock, Leo Abrahams, Kronos Quartet, Martin Boyce, and ever-present FPAKA ‘member’ Dr Raymond MacDonald of the Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra.

The album’s distribution is intended to be a back-to-basics approach, and although not using a traditional label, will instead be released in stages as part of a sonic ‘treasure hunt’. Dade plans to hide master audio tracks in some of his favourite locations of natural beauty, with clues and map co-ordinates issued via his Facebook page.

For fans unable to contain themselves, the complete album may be obtained by contacting the artist direct, who can then be commissioned to hand deliver a CD as an ‘audio pizza’ (yes, in a pizza box, with a real pizza – with a choice of three toppings.) The former Soup Dragon will also be on hand, if required, to cook a Punjabi-style veg curry, deliver the CD espionage-style in a cycle-by drop-off, and provide cover art via a live ‘speed painting’.
